AIR TRAFFIC FORECASTING GROUP

(TFG)

The NAT TFG was established as a result of actions taken by the Special NAT RAN (1965) Meeting. It was considered that the production of forecasts was an essential part of the programme for future action by the NAT SPG.

 Terms of Reference:

a)         the North Atlantic Air Traffic Forecasting Group (NAT TFG) shall produce detailed yearly forecasts for peak and off-peak movements in order to deter­mine air traffic demand in the NAT Region in response to the needs of various users, particularly States and the North Atlantic Systems Planning Group;

b)         the forecasts shall be updated annually and included in the NAT Facilities and Services Implementation Document (FASID); and

c)         the North Atlantic Air Traffic Forecasts will replace the Table of Aircraft Operations stipulated in Doc 8144, as one of the documents on which the North Atlantic Regional Air Navigation Plan shall be based.

Members:                      

Representatives of Canada, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Chairman :                     

The chairmanship rotates among the Members.

Secretary:

Secretariat services are provided by the ICAO European and North Atlantic Office.
